Scopoletin – The Secret Behind Noni’s Hypertensive Properties



Scopoletin belongs to the group of compounds called coumarins. It is a natural substance found in numerous plants and isolated  in noni extract  in 1993.Some research studies have highlighted it to inhibit the growth of E. coli in the gut and also have antibacterial activity on K. pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, H. influenzae . In addition Scopoletin has been found valuable in treating asthma and have demonstrated anti inflammatory effect.
