What Makes Noni So Special!

Noni or Morinda citrifolia is considered as the remarkable plant not in modern times but since the ancient period. In many of the Ayurvedic texts it has been referred to as “Ayushka” which means longevity in Sanskrit. Ayurveda has identified noni as Kapha (water element) stabilizer that helps in removing the excess Pitta (fire element) from the body.

Noni is known to contain more than 150 nutraceuticals. The therapeutic use of noni has been attributed by its constituents. Although it may sound too good to be true but in reality it is a miracle plant, the constituents of which have been extensively investigated scientifically.

The ripe fruit on noni is known to contain (Just to mention few):

•    Nutritive constituents: Fat, Protein, Carbohydrate, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Iron, Calcium.
•    Volatile constituents: various acids, amino acids, ethers, ketones etc.  These volatile components are vaporizable under very low temperature and any expose to heat or air results in the loss of these constituents.
•    Some of the novel and principal constituents of noni are Xeronine, Serotonin, Nitric oxide, Damnacanthal and Noni ppt.

These constituents are believed to act synergistically to produce desirable effects and play a pivotal role in good health.

Researches indicate that noni acts as an adaptogen. It acts at the cellular level and helps in regeneration of the damaged cells. It plays an important role in stimulating the production of T-cells in immune system; enhances the function of macrophages, lymphocytes that play a vital role in body’s defense mechanism.

Noni when consumed as a health supplement, besides meeting all the deficiencies in the body, it eases the pain, maintains healthy blood pressure and blood sugar and provide other various benefits for improved health.
